Tyson

We were blessed today with the birth of our new Baby boy Tyson! He was born at 09:11 today, weighing 7 lbs and 1.5 oz, and 21 inches long. He was immediately whisked away to the NICU, Kellie did not get to see him, I only saw because I looked over the drape, No I did not pass out, I like that stuff! The NICU RN took our camera and took some pics so we could see him. Once stable, I got to go in the NICU with him while Kellie was being stitched back together. Multiple X-rays were taken to check out his bone structure, and an Echo-cardiogram was performed to see if he needed to be taken to Primary Children for heart surgery, thanks to many prayers from all of you, no heart defects were visible. Blood work was sent to the lab and even though his platelet count was low, they felt the need for a blood transfusion was not an issue at this time and would continue to monitor, up to this point at 7:30 pm, still no transfusions. For some reason his body is sending out immature white blood cells called segs, bands are the mature ones. This increased number in segmental white blood cells was reason enough for them to draw blood cultures and but him on a broad spectrum antibiotic through his IV. Kellie has been awesome, she has held down her lunch and dinner, and got up to a wheel chair and I took her over to the NICU to see him where she got to hold him again for about an hour. Kellie has been trying to get some sleep, however the RN's and every one else cant seem to understand that if they keep telling her she needs to sleep, that means DON'T BOTHER HER! Other than that all is going good, Tyson has been sleeping all day, only opening his eyes for Kellie. Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers, they have been heard and we appreciate all of them.
